Career at a Glance

Michael leads Kraft Foods European business, based in Zurich, Switzerland, which includes many of our best-known and most delectable brands, like LUTUC and Oreo biscuits; Jacobs and Carte Noire coffee; Milka, Cote d’Or and Toblerone chocolate; Philadelphia cream cheese and many others. Michael has been in this role since January 2009.

 

Before he came to Kraft Foods, Michael was with The Coca-Cola Company, where he served most recently as President of its Northwest Europe and Nordics business unit.

 

Michael has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Cape Town in his native South Africa. 

 

Five Facts From Michael

Childhood career ambition: I always wanted to be a surfer. 

Countries lived in: South Africa, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, United States, Australia and Switzerland.

Favorite Kraft Foods product: When I lived in Australia I loved Vegemite. Since being in Europe, my favorite product is Tassimo. It encapsulates everything great about our brands – strong portfolio, quality, distinctiveness, delicious taste and opportunity to grow.

 

Hobbies: Snowboarding. Just as well, as we now live in Switzerland.

 

Favorite saying: Don’t admire the problem – work the solution.
