Sam Rovit leads our Strategy and Information Systems teams at Kraft Foods. He’s held this role since joining the company in February, 2011.
Prior to joining Kraft Foods, Sam was, a senior partner with Bain & Company, and CEO of Swift & Company
Sam spent 19 of the last 23 years at Bain, in its Boston, London, Sydney, San Francisco, and most recently, Chicago offices. At various times, he led Bain’s Global M&A Practice; helped launch Bain’s Corporate Renewal Group, a turn around and restructuring practice; and founded Bain’s Food and Agribusiness Practice.
He has written numerous articles on mergers and acquisitions, and co-authored the Harvard Business School Press book, “Mastering the Merger: Four critical decisions that make or break the deal” (2004).
From 2005 to 2007, Sam ran Swift, a $10 billion meat processor and at the time the second largest red-meat company in the world. He led the sale of the business to JBS of Brazil.
He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School; a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy degree from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University; and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Studies from Duke University

Favorite Kraft Foods product: Triscuit crackers, Oscar Mayer salami and Cracker Barrel cheese have sustained me on many a backpacking trip.
Why I am passionate about my job? Strategy is about making choices and focusing your resources to better serve customers and beat the competition, my two favorite outcomes.
Hobbies: Skiing
Something that few people know about me: I worked on a custom cutting crew harvesting wheat for a summer.
