Kraft Foods’ 2009 Annual Shareholders Meeting was held on Wednesday May 20, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at The North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, IL.
Promoting Sustainability
Kraft Foods is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our activities, preventing pollution and promoting the sustainability of our natural resources, while providing quality products that meet the needs of our consumers. Reducing the environmental impacts of printing and mailing hard copies of proxy materials to our shareholders advances our sustainability efforts. Therefore, we are pleased to offer our shareholders electronic delivery of proxy materials, including the Annual Report on Form 10-K, proxy statement and related materials.
Electronic delivery provides a variety of benefits to the company, our shareholders and most importantly the environment by:
- Providing shareholders with internet access to proxy information, while preserving the ability to receive paper materials;
- Eliminating sizeable paper documents from personal files;
- Saving the company printing and mailing costs; and
- Avoiding the use of approximately 200,000 pounds of paper (comparable to about 2,000 trees) by not printing materials. As a result, this avoids the creation of approximately 260 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions and the use of 1.7 million gallons of water.*
