Host Martin Champoux dishes up 13 mouth-watering new episodes
The popular what's cooking television show sponsored by Kraft Canada returns to W Network January 8, 2008 with 13 mouth-watering new episodes for its first full season after a highly successful pilot in 2007. Hosted by Martin Champoux, what's cooking is the English version of Quebec's number one cooking show, qu'est-ce qui mijote, which has provided Quebec families with easy-to-make, great-tasting meal ideas for the past four years. Qu'est-ce qui mijote, viewed by 250,000 Quebecers each week, recently won the 2007 Canadian Association of Broadcasters Gold Ribbon Award in the TV category. Both television programs are based on Kraft's highly popular magazines of the same name and complement Kraft's recipes by email program and kraftcanada.com website.
In each episode of what's cooking, Martin will demonstrate three recipes that are simple and easy to make – recipes that use easy-to-find products; require only a limited number of ingredients; and take very little time to prepare! Martin gets his ideas from time spent at local shops, markets and restaurants, talking with food producers, grocers, chefs and other foodies. He is committed to helping people cook with confidence and liven up their everyday meals.
"We are delighted to bring a full-fledged and full-flavoured season of what's cooking to Canadians this year," says Martin Champoux. "Our program presents delicious, fast and simple meal ideas along with information on the food we prepare and the gadgets we use to make it. The success of this format is proof that Canadians love food and sharing it with friends and family. My guests and I are here to help make delicious food as quick and easy as possible."
In addition to the charismatic take on cuisine provided by Martin, this season will feature segments by Gadget Guru, Melissa-Jane Shaw and Culinary Correspondent, Adam Reid, who will hit the road in search of Canada's best foods, stopping at farms and markets along the way. Martin will also host everyday people as guests, and teach them his culinary tips and techniques for creating the perfect meal.
what's cooking will air for 13 consecutive weeks on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5 p.m. E/P on W Network and will repeat on Wednesdays at 12:30 a.m. E/P and Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. E/P.
