Innovative 45 degree rotational technology gives Shreddies cereal geometric superiority
(February 25, 2008) – Post Shreddies cereal, a family favourite for more than 67 years, has undergone a major transformation. Post Cereals introduces new Diamond Shreddies cereal, marking the first shape change in Shreddies cereal history. To celebrate, a special limited-edition collectible Diamond Shreddies box will be in stores beginning in March 2008. The new cereal has been developed using innovative 45-degree rotational technology, giving Shreddies cereal geometric superiority while living up to its tradition of great flavour and whole wheat goodness. One taste and you'll wonder why you've been so square for so long!
“New Diamond Shreddies will add some excitement to breakfast to further increase your cereal enjoyment,” says Jennifer Hutchinson, Director of Marketing, Post Cereals. “We wanted to let Canadians know that after generations as a family favourite, Shreddies is still the wholesome whole grain choice and Diamond Shreddies gives Canadians a whole new way to look at it!”
Shreddies – A Diamond in the Grocery Aisle
To launch the revolutionary new Diamond Shreddies cereal, Post Cereals is offering the chance to win one of ten genuine diamonds. Every limited edition new Diamond Shreddies box includes a pin code that can be entered in an online draw at www.diamondshreddies.com for a chance to win a diamond valued at approximately $5,000 CDN. A total of ten diamonds will be given away through the contest which will close on August 29, 2008.
The launch of new Diamond Shreddies is supported by a holistic marketing campaign that includes a web site: www.diamondshreddies.com, outdoor billboards and public relations. The web site will feature three viral videos, each showing hidden camera footage of real product testers in a market research facility. For those who miss their chance to get the limited edition packaging, a downloadable version of the new Diamond Shreddies cereal box graphics can simply be printed and affixed to the front of a regular Shreddies cereal box. The experts at Post Cereals hope this clears up any confusion.
