Classic favourites now include added nutritional benefits and peanut-free options
Toronto, ON – (April 15, 2009) – Pick your favourite Snak Pak! Canada’s favourite cookies are now the perfect portable snack for on-the-go snacking fun. Part of Kraft’s Sensible Solution product lineup, Mr. Christie’s Snak Paks are a better-for-you choice for any snacking occasion including lunches, sporting events or road trips.
With five different varieties offering a range of nutritional benefits including whole grain, fibre, DHA/EPA omega-3 fatty acid and peanut-free choices, Snak Paks provide snack solutions that both parents and children will love.
“Canadian parents want more choice when it comes to snacks for their kids,” says Irene Daley, senior brand manager Kids Cookies, Kraft Canada. “Parents can feel good knowing they’re packing tasty snacks that are trans-fat free and offer other nutritional benefits like fibre and DHA/EPA omega-3 fatty acid. They’re a great choice for on-the-go families.”
Mr. Christie, you make good Snak Paks!
Mr. Christie’s Snak Paks are available in five favourite brands that are popular with kids of all ages: Mini Chips Ahoy! Cookies, Barnum’s Animal Crackers, Teddy Grahams Honey Cookies, Barnum’s ABC’s Cocoa Cookies and Mini Oreo Cookies.
With the exception of Mini Oreo Cookies, all Mr. Christie’s Snak Paks are manufactured in a peanut-free facility and are labeled with a red peanut-free flash on the front of the outer carton and on each individual pouch that clearly states: Made in a Peanut-Free Facility.
“Allergies are on the rise in Canada with approximately one in 150 school-aged children allergic to peanuts or nuts,” continues Daley. “As a result, many schools have banned products containing peanuts from schools. Mr. Christie’s peanut-free Snak Paks helps make packing lunches easier.”
It’s important to note that while many of the Mr. Christie’s Snak Paks varieties are peanut-free, the full size varieties may not be. All peanut-free products will display a prominent red peanut-free flash on the packaging; therefore, it’s imperative that the packaging is always read before serving the product.
A Sensible Solution
As part of Kraft’s Sensible Solution line-up, all Snak Paks varieties meet specific nutritional criterion that includes limited calories, fat, sodium and sugar. The green Sensible Solution flag appears on the packaging to highlight the nutritional benefits of each product, making it easy for customers to locate the information at-a-glance.
