Kids Can Enjoy Some Mobile Mentoring This Summer

Lunch Your Tummy Right Tour Gears Up To Feed Kids’ Success

May 12, 2009 (Memphis, Tenn.) – From biking to tumbling, cheering to skateboarding, most kids have one thing they like to do above all others. But sometimes, they need a little extra encouragement to pursue their passions and reach their fullest potential. With summer just around the corner, Oscar Mayer Lunchables Lunch Combinations is kicking off the Lunchables Lunch Your Tummy Right Tour, a cross-country tour that aims to inspire kids to achieve success.

The tour will be conducted in partnership with the well-known Camp Woodward, the country’s biggest action sports, gymnastics, cheer and digital media camp that offers week-long summer sessions to kids ages seven to 17. U.S. and World Gymnastics Champion and dance sensation Shawn Johnson, who will attend Camp Woodward as a visiting pro, understands better than most that giving kids the support and inspiration they need is an integral part of their development. “The key to my success has been hard work, determination, and the support of my mentors and coaches,” said Shawn Johnson. “The Lunchables Lunch Your Tummy Right Tour inspires kids to achieve success – and have fun while doing it! I’m looking forward to sharing some of my stories with kids across the country.”

Johnson, along with successful Camp Woodward alumni, including BMXer, Dennis Enarson, and sports videographer, John Considine, will make special appearances at select tour stops to share their stories about how to achieve your personal best and follow your dreams.

As part of the Tour, kids will also be encouraged to get active by climbing a giant inflatable wall and playing a series of educational games on an interactive bus. “The Lunchables team believes that a well-lunched tummy is the key to success,” said Darin Dugan, Senior Director of Marketing, Lunchables. “The Lunchables Lunch Your Tummy Right Tour is the perfect outlet to help kids discover and enhance their talents.”

  • July 30-Aug 2, Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State Fair
  • Aug 6-9, Madison, Wis. at the Wisconsin State Fair
  • Aug 13-16, San Diego, Calif. at the San Diego Zoo
  • Aug 20-23, Sacramento, Calif. at the California State Fair

Pursuing Passions to Achieve Success 
In conjunction with the Lunchables Lunch Your Tummy Right Tour, this summer the Lunchables team is awarding 50 kids with a VIP ticket to Camp Woodward for the ultimate summer camp experience. Each winner will be able to bring along one lucky friend to learn from the pros how they can achieve success. Winners will be invited to participate in a week-long camp session at Woodward East, located in central Pennsylvania, or Camp Woodward West, located in Stallion Springs, Calif.
