Bloggers Offer Ideas and Recipes to Make Meals At Home More Delicious
Northfield, IL (September 29, 2009) – With as many as 60 percent of Americans saying they’re dining out less and cooking at home morei, cries of “What’s for dinner?” are ringing out across the country. While it’s easy for time-starved families to slip into a suppertime slump, a tasty meal doesn’t have to be complicated. This fall, the Velveeta brand is teaming up with five popular mom bloggers to invite families to VELVEETA it! with meal planning advice and delicious recipes. Also known as the Kitchenistas, these bloggers will be dishing out 25 mealtime ideas over five weeks on VELVEETAKitchenistas.com and the Velveeta Facebook community.
“We are taking the guesswork out of mealtime by having the Kitchenistas give their own fresh take on weeknight cooking,” said Sherina Smith, Velveeta brand manager, Kraft Foods. “Together, we’re providing families with budget-friendly, no-hassle recipes and ideas that deliver great taste.”
Each weekday for five weeks, the VELVEETA it! Kitchenistas will offer tips on VELVEETAKitchenistas.com focusing on themes such as making mouth-watering meals for less, planning and cooking more efficiently, using leftovers creatively, and making favorite dishes more flavorful. They will also be answering questions and interacting with fans on the Velveeta Facebook community with advice taken right from their own kitchens, such as:
- Plan a kids’ choice night: Let your children plan the menu one night each week – the more involved they are, the more likely they are to love the meal.
- Recreate restaurant raves at home: Does your family love the baked ziti at a local Italian restaurant? Look for a recipe that includes the same ingredients and have them paying their compliments to the chef – you!
- Give leftovers new life with Velveeta: Making a Velveeta dip to enjoy during the big game? Then try it mixed with pasta and veggies for a quick, easy, cheesy dinner the next night.
From September 28, 2009, through October 30, 2009, visitors to VELVEETAKitchenistas.com can meet the Kitchenistas, check out their ideas and leave a comment for a chance to win a VELVEETA it! prize package (valued at $75), including a $25 grocery gift card, cast iron skillet, Velveeta cookbook, loaf saver and product coupon.
