Kraft Foods Responds to Tropical Storm Lee and Wildfires in Texas

Red Cross

September 12, 2011 -- Tropical Storm Lee produced heavy rains in the US that caused flooding from the Central Appalachians to central New York.  Much of that area is still struggling with the effects of Hurricane Irene, which continues to cause power outages, as well as the threat of more flooding, especially in New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Wildfires in Texas have been burning for almost 300 days, which is due to a drought unlike any seen in years.  More than three-million acres of land are scorched, hundreds of homes are destroyed, and thousands have been forced to evacuate.

To help respond faster to families in need during disasters, Kraft Foods annually contributes to the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program. Our contribution at the beginning of 2011 helps to make sure that the Red Cross has the necessary resources needed to respond to a disaster at a moment's notice.  Our participation keeps our response proactive and simple.
