Through savings, education, entrepreneurship and innovative technologies, thousands of cocoa farmers are benefiting from more sustainable cocoa farming systems. Cadbury's longstanding commitments to the Cadbury Cocoa Partnership and the Fairtrade™ organization are just two examples. In India, Cadbury's Cocoa Gold initiative aims to create sustainable livelihoods from cocoa, increasing the area under cultivation and supporting community centered development. The program advocates increased organic inputs and reduced chemical usage, eco-friendly farming approaches (such as biological controls), rationalized water consumption (for example, drip irrigation techniques) and the use of renewable and sustainable energy sources in farms.
