Name: Andrew Smith
Position: National Business Manager Snacking, Woolworths
Location: Kraft Foods Australia
Education: BSc Joint honours in Business Management & Food Marketing; University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. UK
Year Joined Kraft Foods: June 2008
What I do:
After a career in the UK in the FMCG business, my wife and I decided to follow our dream of working and living overseas. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to live in fabulous Melbourne and work with an exciting Kraft Foods organisation. In the 3 years I've worked with Kraft Foods, I am responsible for the Woolworths account which entails managing our business relationship, growing our sales, developing a more strategic business plan process whilst having the privilege to learn and work with a fantastic team of people. I began on the grocery portfolio, moving to the Snacking upon integration. My next chapter will be a new role - managing the total category strategy for 'Everyday Confectionary' which begins in the next couple of months.
Why I love my job:
Kraft Foods has been in a constant change since my joining in June 2008. The challenge and excitement this creates is what keeps it interesting and rewarding. What sets Kraft Foods above many other employers is the level of people and team development it invests in. I have been fortunate to join a programme involving colleagues across Asia Pacific which has enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of Kraft Foods; Working on non familiar functional projects has enabled the development of a broader learning. I had the opportunity to work with fantastic coaches, members of country and AP leadership teams to develop in my future career.
