Kraft Foods China donated RMB5.5 million to build the first 100 "Kraft Hope Kitchens" in 5 Chinese provinces - Anhui, Yunnan, Jilin, Hunan and Hebei Provinces. By June, 2010, the 100 well-equipped Kraft Hope Kitchens were in full use to provide hot meals for 50,000 rural school children.
Every Kraft Hope Kitchen is equipped with standard cooking utensils, refrigerator, disinfection cabinet, as well as nutrition guidelines and food safety practice posters and booklets. Headmasters from 100 Hope school have received trainings on children's nutrition and food safety practice. Kraft Foods China employees and business partners regularly provide volunteer services and donations to Kraft Hope Kitchens.
