Career at a Glance

Bernd was appointed Vice President and Chief Counsel for Kraft Foods Europe in 2007 and is based in Zurich, Switzerland. Bernd is responsible for the company’s legal and compliance functions in the region.

From 2003 to 2007 he was Vice President and Chief Counsel for Kraft Foods’ Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMA) region in Vienna, Austria.
Before joining Kraft Foods in 1995, Bernd was in private practice with an international law firm in Frankfurt, Germany. He worked first in Zurich as Counsel Intellectual Property and then as Senior Counsel Western Europe. In 1999 he was appointed to the position of Senior Counsel EU region based in London, UK and one and a half years later took up the post of Deputy Chief Counsel Kraft Foods International in New York, USA.
Bernd graduated in law from the University of Münster, Germany in 1987. He gained his Doctor of Jurisprudence two years later following research at the UK’s London Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and his Bar exam in Frankfurt in 1992.
