Kraft Foods UK - Products

Our skilled and dedicated team of more than 6,000 employees produces our tasty products in 14 locations across the UK and Ireland.

At our famous Bournville manufacturing facility, in the city of Birmingham, we make life a little bit sweeter for so many consumers with our iconic Cadbury chocolates, including our celebrated Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. Each year, our employees work hard to produce around 15 million tins of Roses chocolate, more than 45 million Easter Eggs and around 300 million Cadbury Creme Eggs chocolate. And, every 24 hours, almost six million bars of chocolate and 17 million Dairy Milk Buttons chocolate come off the line.

Kraft Foods UK - Factories

Our Banbury facility is the largest instant coffee plant in the Kraft Foods network and produces 90 million jars of Kenco instant coffee per year. In addition, we’re pleased to run global Research & Development centres of excellence for chocolate in Bournville and for coffee in Banbury and analytical sciences in Reading. Our UK main office is located in Uxbridge, and our Ireland main office in Coolock, Dublin. In addition to our Bournville and Banbury facilities, we run six manufacturing plants throughout the UK and Ireland, which produce many adored brands, including our Bassett’s Jelly Babies. And our Coolock factory in Dublin produces the much loved chocolate brands Twirl, Flake and Time Out.

We also run our whimsical Cadbury World in Bournville.  More than half a million people visit the popular centre each year to discover where chocolate comes from, how it’s made, and learn about the Cadbury family.

We're deeply committed to reducing our impact on the environment and helping support sustainable farming practices.  In fact, all of the beans used for our Kenco brand coffee are harvested from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. Our Fairtrade Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate has been available in the UK and Ireland since July 2009, and we added our range of hot beverages to our Fairtrade line at the end of 2010.

Kraft Foods UK - Make a Delicious Difference Week
In addition, we’re strongly committed to the communities where we operate and we’re proud to be a part of them.  As part of our heritage and company values, we support our communities with funding, product donations, gifts in kind and employee volunteering.  In 2010, we invested almost £3 million in our communities while 34 percent of our employees volunteered in their local communities.  Also in 2010, more than 1,000 of our employees volunteered in Kraft Foods’ Delicious Difference Week, the company’s annual global employee volunteering event. And we support healthy lifestyles with our health4schools  program, which teaches school children in Gloucestershire, England, about eating healthy and staying active.

We continue to invest in our local communities in the UK and Africa through the Cadbury Foundation. The charity dates back to 1935 and is now funded entirely by the Company.  The Foundation provides grants for a select number of projects to ensure funds have the maximum impact.
