Kraft Foods really encourages you to challenge people and practices. So over the years I’ve managed to implement several Finance-specific ideas. And none of them would’ve been possible without the atmosphere of openness and communication at Kraft Foods. That’s what allows ideas to flourish.

The tendency in most businesses is to over-formalise everything. Sending emails instead of talking face to face, and losing momentum if you need to get a project approved 25 times. So I’ve always encouraged talking. Just find who you need, and speak to them. That’s something people at all levels really do here – and they’re leading by example. You can explain your ideas in person and they’ll support you. It’s the healthiest environment of all.
