Making a Delicious Difference in Our Communities

Hunger isn’t always an obvious issue, but often hits close to home.
In fact, hunger and malnutrition are the greatest threats to health and well-being around the world.  And nearly one in every six people doesn’t get enough to eat. As one of Europe’s largest food companies, we’re dedicated to helping fight hunger and, at the same time, supporting and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Over the past 25 years, Kraft Foods has donated more than a billion dollars in cash and food around the globe. Since 1997, we’ve provided more than one billion servings of food to those in need.  Our Kraft Foods Europe businesses, together with our Kraft Foods Foundation, have contributed millions of dollars in cash and in-kind to support charities and disaster reliefs in the region.
In Europe, we work with many non-profit organizations, including local food banks and other community groups, that are helping those in need across the region through cash and in-kind support. In 2010, we’ve partnered with 50 different charities and NGOs on 157 different projects, and more than 2,900 employees have volunteered to support these during their working hours (more than 14,000 hours in total).

We also look for ways to support and promote healthy lifestyles. That’s why we’ve created programs in a number of communities, like our health 4 schools initiative to promote healthy diet and active play to school-age kids and communities in the southwestern part of the United Kingdom. Through the Kraft Foods Foundation, we’re also exploring similar programs in other markets in the region. Learn more about all our community-based programs in Europe.

Ultimately, it’s all about making a delicious difference in our local communities. We’re eager to help support those in need throughout the year as well as during our special global employee week of service.  Learn more about how thousands of our European employees are giving back every year during “Delicious Difference Week.”
